PUD “Polo universitario e aree limitrofe” former military base “Testafochi” – AOSTA (AO)

The Detailed Urban Plan involves:

Territorial surface: 84,333 sqm.

Land areas: 31,683 sqm.

Total gross useful surface (existing and of new realization): 34,782 sqm.

Destination of use in project: University – teaching room, University – polyfunctional room, University – student housing – residence, and other functions.

    The project involves the adaptation of former Testafochi military base to the functions of the new University of Valle D’Aosta, with attention to maintaining the memory and the clarity of the original structure, as well as the harmonical integration of new volumes; creation of links between the former base’s spaces and the surrounding areas, accessibility of the area through the realization of a new urban square, overall reorganization of the viability and creation of underground parking lots; valorization of the roman walls and of the historic buildings they enclose (“Tourneuve” tower, “Plot” arcs, “Leper’s tower”, and D’Avisio tower) through the realization of a linear park characterized by green areas and bike/pedestrian paths.
